Gymnasts Earn Honors (Commercial Appeal - 4/19/2007)
 On March 17, the Tennessee Men's Gymnastics Meet was held in Chattanooga. The Wimbleton men's gymnastics team, the only men's gymnastics team in Memphis, took several competitors of all ages and levels.
- Randy Sanders -- Sixth place, Level 5 All-Around
- Marcell Wierdl -- Third place, Level 6 All-Around
- Michael Landry -- Fourth place, Level 6 All-Around
- Cory Takashima -- First place, Level 8 All-Around
- Austin Hall -- Second place, Level 9 All-Around
- Bobby Davis -- Fourth place, Level 10 All-Around
- Adam Zysk -- Second place, Level 10 All-Around
All of the boys received medals in all of the individual events: floor, pommel horse, rings, parallel bars, horizontal bar and vault.
Nine of the team members qualified to compete at regionals in Knoxville. The Tennessee state team members from Memphis will be Randy Sanders, Marcell Wierdl, Michael Landry, Cory Takashima, Austin Hall, Bobby Davis and Adam Zysk. Regional qualifiers from the gym also include Blake McMurray and Jonah Linder. They are coached by Bob Murphy, Johnnie Echols and Darin Gerlach.
